A FAQ for decision-makers and project teams

This page brings together the questions organizations most often ask when evaluating a conversational AI avatar for a physical space or digital interface.

The answers deliberately distinguish native SANIA capabilities from specific integrations that must be configured or developed for a project.

Frequently asked questions about SANIA

Understanding SANIA

What is SANIA?

SANIA is a professional conversational AI avatar designed to welcome, inform, assist and guide people in physical spaces and digital interfaces. It combines a visual and spoken presence with conversational intelligence that can use organization-specific information.

Can SANIA speak multiple languages?

Yes. SANIA can communicate in more than 100 languages. This makes it possible to offer the same conversational visitor touchpoint to international audiences on a compatible display, kiosk or interface.

Is SANIA a chatbot?

SANIA is not limited to a text chatbot or a predefined response tree. It is a visible, speaking conversational AI avatar that can hold natural conversations, use a knowledge base and, depending on configuration, call tools or external systems.

What is SANIA used for in a physical venue?

SANIA makes information directly accessible through conversation. In a public-facing environment, it can welcome visitors, answer recurring questions, present information and help people find the right area, service or resource.

Which sectors can use SANIA?

SANIA can be used in retail, shopping centres, tourism, hospitality, museums and cultural venues, companies, public authorities, banks and other reception environments. Content, identity and enabled capabilities are adapted to each project.

Does SANIA replace reception teams?

No. SANIA is designed to complement teams by handling certain information requests and making content available at any time. Situations that require a decision, business expertise or a human relationship remain with staff.

Can SANIA operate 24/7?

Yes. SANIA can be made available 24/7 when the device, network and deployment environment are also available. This can maintain access to information outside the hours when staff are present.

Conversation and languages

Can visitors speak to SANIA?

Yes. SANIA can use voice interaction: the visitor speaks naturally, the conversational pipeline processes the request and the avatar answers aloud. The installation needs suitable audio equipment for its environment.

Can SANIA be used with a touchscreen?

Yes. Depending on configuration, SANIA can combine voice conversation with a touch interface. Touch can provide a complementary interaction mode when the environment, hardware or use case calls for it.

Can users interrupt SANIA while it is speaking?

Yes. SANIA can handle interruptions during a spoken response so the user can take the turn without always waiting for the sentence to finish. This turn-taking behavior helps conversations feel more natural.

Can SANIA keep the context of a conversation?

Yes. During an active session, SANIA can keep conversational context so it can understand follow-up questions without starting from zero each time. This does not mean that permanent memory or long-term storage is automatically enabled.

Can SANIA switch languages during a conversation?

Yes. A session can be configured so SANIA adapts the recognition and conversation language when a user changes language. This complements its ability to communicate in more than 100 languages.

Does SANIA require predefined menus or dialogue scripts?

No. SANIA is based on conversational AI, so there is no need to build every conversation as an exhaustive dialogue tree. It is still important to define the avatar’s role, scope, rules and the information it is allowed to use.

Does the whole knowledge base have to be translated into every language?

No. SANIA’s multilingual operation does not require the entire knowledge base to be manually translated into every language used. The priority is to provide clear, reliable and up-to-date business information within the avatar’s intended scope.

Avatar, voice and personality

Can SANIA's avatar appearance be customized?

Yes. The avatar’s visual identity can be customized to fit a brand, venue, character or use case. Appearance is part of the persona configuration alongside voice and behavior.

Can a SANIA avatar be created from a photo?

Yes. SANIA can use a custom avatar created from a suitable photo or image. When a real person is represented, the organization must have the necessary image rights and permissions.

Can SANIA's voice be customized?

Yes. Voice is one of SANIA’s configurable elements. It can be selected and adapted to the character, language, desired tone and context of use.

Can SANIA use a custom or cloned voice?

Yes, depending on project configuration. A custom or cloned voice can be used from authorized samples, provided the necessary consent and rights for that voice are in place.

Can SANIA's tone and behavior be customized?

Yes. System instructions can define SANIA’s role, tone, response style, goals and guardrails. These rules can be adjusted to match the organization and the context in which the avatar is used.

AI and knowledge base

Can SANIA use our own information?

Yes. SANIA can use a knowledge base made up of documents and content from your organization. When information needs to come live from external software or a service, a specific integration can be configured.

Can we choose the AI model or LLM used by SANIA?

Yes. Multiple LLM engines can be used depending on the project configuration, and an architecture can also integrate a custom or external model. The choice depends on functional needs, expected quality and project constraints.

What types of documents can SANIA use?

SANIA can use different documents and content supplied by the organization. Common formats in the SANIA CMS include PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT and CSV, with other content possible depending on the selected configuration.

How does SANIA find information in documents?

SANIA can use RAG-style semantic retrieval to find relevant passages in the document knowledge base before building an answer. The goal is to ground responses in the organization’s own information rather than relying only on a model’s general knowledge.

Can the knowledge base be updated without recreating the avatar?

Yes. The avatar identity and its knowledge base are separate parts of the configuration. Business documents and content can therefore evolve without recreating the avatar’s appearance.

APIs, tools and integrations

Can SANIA call an API or webhook during a conversation?

Yes. SANIA can use configured tools to call webhooks or HTTP endpoints during a conversation. This can query or act on an external system when the integration, authentication and business rules have been defined for the project.

Can SANIA trigger actions in the interface or on the display?

Yes. Client-side tools can be configured to trigger actions defined for the project, such as navigating to a section, showing content, changing interface state or starting a planned action. Available actions depend on the interface that has been built and are not all enabled by default.

Can SANIA connect to a CRM, ERP or business application?

Yes, when a specific integration is developed or configured with the relevant system. SANIA provides mechanisms for calling tools and APIs, but that does not mean it is natively connected to every CRM, ERP or business application on the market.

Can SANIA use real-time data?

Yes, when a real-time data source is connected to SANIA through a configured tool, API or webhook. The avatar can then use the external system’s response during the conversation instead of relying only on static knowledge-base documents.

Can SANIA make a reservation, take a payment or create a ticket?

These are not universal functions enabled by default. They can be made possible when a specific integration connects SANIA to the relevant booking, payment, ticketing or helpdesk system with appropriate business and security controls.

Can SANIA be integrated into a website, application, display or kiosk?

Yes. SANIA can be integrated into a web or application interface and deployed on different compatible display and kiosk formats. Integration method, voice, touch and available actions are defined according to the project context.
